Wick trimming: Always trim wicks every time you light the candle. If the flame is around an inch or taller and the flame is sooting, blow it out, trim the wick and relight. Trimming the wicks to 1/4 of an inch will give you the best burn possible.
Do not expect to reach a full wax pool on the first or even the second burn. When burned and trimmed properly there will be a little bit of wax hangup around the edges of the candle after the first 2 or 3 burns. It will catch up further down into the jar and ensure a better burn on the 2nd half of the candle.
Avoid burning candles for more than 4 or 5 hours at a time.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles and Wax warmers out of the reach of children and pets.
Extinguish a candle before leaving the room. Only burn candles on stable flat surfaces that are fire resistant and away from flammable objects.
Avoid burning candles near drafts. The candle jar will become warm to hot while burning. Do not handle candles while they are burning.
When the wax is 1/2 of an inch or less from the bottom of the jar, it’s time to discontinue the use of your candle.
Wax Melt Safety
Always use a wax warmer designed for wax melts. Do not use a candle warmer or a hot plate to melt wax melts. These devices can get too hot and cause the wax to catch fire.
Never leave a wax warmer or melter unattended. If you must leave the room, turn off the wax warmer or unplug it.
Keep wax melts and wax warmers out of reach of children and pets. Wax melts can be a choking hazard for young children, and they can also cause harm to pets if they are ingested.
Do not warm wax melts near anything that can catch fire. This includes curtains, furniture, and bedding.
